Apparatus (10) for removing a catheter from the body consists of a forceps-style device with a dissection and engagement structure (30) at its distal end. The structure (30) is a two-part body (36, 38), with a smooth outer surface, tapering towards both distal proximal ends. Opening and closing the two parts (36, 38) provides for blunt dissection of tissue.
