PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide novel biomarkers of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.SOLUTION: Provided are detection methods of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and a method for monitoring a morbid state of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, the detection methods and the monitoring method using increase of miR-663b or/and miR-4649-5p, or decrease of miR-4299 or/and miR-3187-5p in a sample collected from a patient as an index.
