An in vitro method for modifying a protein distribution in a fluid, in which the protein distribution has a first state, the first state having high density lipoprotein alpha and high density pre-beta lipoprotein, comprising the steps of: exposing the fluid to a solvent in which the exposure modifies the distribution of proteins from the first state to a second state, the second state having an increased concentration of high density prebeta lipoproteins relative to the first state and removing the solvent from the fluid, in which the solvent comprises sevoflurane, trifluoroethane or isoflurane.Un método in vitro para modificar una distribución de proteínas en un fluido, en el que la distribución de proteínas presenta un primer estado, teniendo el primer estado lipoproteínas de densidad alta alfa y lipoproteínas de densidad alta pre-beta, que comprende las etapas de: exponer el fluido a un disolvente en el que la exposición modifica la distribución de proteínas del primer estado a un segundo estado, teniendo el segundo estado una concentración aumentada de lipoproteínas de densidad alta prebeta en relación al primer estado y retirar el disolvente del fluido, en el que el disolvente comprende sevoflurano, trifluoroetano o isoflurano.
