PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective and highly safe lipase inhibitor having functions for inhibiting activities of lipase action, hardly providing risk of side effects even by continuous use.
SOLUTION: The lipase inhibitor contains Saponaria officinalis or Acanthopanax sieboldianus. The plant of the invention can contribute to suppression or prevention of obesity and hyperlipemia because of strongly inhibiting the lipase activities, and is effective for prevention or treatment of skin disease such as pimple, dermatitis and scurf caused by bacterial lipase. The lipase inhibitor is highly safe, and useful as an antiobestic drug, a hyperlipemia-ameliorating agent and a skin-ameliorating agent for the pimple, and can be used as a food, a medicine and a cosmetic.
