The invention relates to a dental handpiece (1) comprising mechanical elements, i.e. a tool holder unit for fixing and rotationally driving a dental instrument about a drive axis (6) and a movement transmission unit. The mechanical elements are mounted inside the body (2) with a head (4) and a handle (3). The invention is characterized in that it comprises means for electric connection between the mechanical elements of the handle and the head of the instrument. Said means are made up of an elastic and electrically conducting connecting element .Linvention concerne une pièce à main dentaire (1) du type comportant des organes mécaniques notamment un ensemble porte-outil pour la fixation et lentraînement en rotation dun instrument dentaire autour dun axe dentraînement (6) et un ensemble de transmission de mouvement, lesdits organes mécaniques étant montés à lintérieur dun corps (2) avec une tête (4) et un manche (3), caractérisée en ce quelle comporte des moyens de liaison électrique entre les organes mécaniques du manche et la tête de linstrument, moyens constitués dun organe de liaison élastique et électriquement conducteur.
