The present invention relates to self-assembled magnetic micelles for targeted drug release comprising nanoparticle complex and conjugated with integrin antibody, forming integrin-targeted micelles wherein the self-assembled magnetic micelles exhibit anti- metastatic activity. The synthesized responsive self-assembled nanomicelles integrate dual diagnostics at cell and tissue level due to the presence of intrinsic fluorescence and magnetic resonance (T2) contrasting property respectively. A self-assembled magnetic micelles for targeted drug release comprising encapsulated nanoparticles forming an encapsulated micelle (Dox-SPION) complex, wherein the self-assembled magnetic micelles are chitosan micelles and antibody is av3 integrin antibody.
