PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antiseptic polymethyl methacrylate bone cement that can be used for mechanical fixation of primary total articular endoprostheses, for mechanical fixation of revision total articular endoprostheses, and for producing spacers.SOLUTION: The invention proposes an antiseptic composition for use as bone cement, in particular an antiseptic polymethylmethacrylate bone cement, that can be cured and comprises a content of at least one component that is a compound with an oxidizing effect or from which a compound with an oxidizing effect can be released. Preferably, hydrogen peroxide is an antiseptic agent having a strong bactericidal effect due to the oxidizing effect.
