The smart band for being worn on an ankle according to the present invention comprises: a band body part (10) having the shape of a band and worn on an ankle； an elastic part (12) provided between one end and the other end of the band body part (10) to adjust the length of the band body part (10) by being expanded or contracted by internal control； a motion detection part (300) for detecting motion； a control part (310) for checking whether or not motion has continued for a certain time； and a band tension adjusting part (320) for driving a motor (322) to output a signal for adjusting band tension into a tightened state if it is checked that motion has continued for the certain time, and driving the motor (322) to output a signal for adjusting band tension into a loosened state if it is checked that the certain time has elapsed without motion. The smart band for being worn on an ankle according to the present invention allow a body to feel less aversion and fatigue by detecting motion, loosening the band when there has been no motion for a certain time, and tightening the band when enough motion to be considered to be exercise starts.
