#$%^&*AU2012200016B220120809.pdf#####A BURETTE Abstract A burette (10) comprising an elongated hollow body (11) having a longitudinal axis that is to be generally vertically oriented during use, the body (11) including a chamber (12) to receive a liquid to be dispensed by the burette (10)； an inlet passage (14) extending inwardly of the chamber (12) so as to terminate with an end extremity (20) in the chamber (12) via which liquid is delivered to the chamber (12)； an outlet (28) extending from the chamber (12), the outlet (28) being located below the inlet (14) extremity； and a float valve (24) located between the inlet passage (14) and outlet (28) and movable therebetween in response to changing liquid levels in the chamber (12), the float valve (24) including a hollow floatation body (58) enclosing a chamber, the hollow floatation body (58) including a top wall having a recess (25) to hold liquid, the recess (25) being vertically aligned with said extremity (20) so that when liquid level in said chamber (12) is above a predetermined level said extremity (20) is located below liquid level in said recess (25) to at least inhibit flow to said chamber (12) through said passage (50), with the liquid level in said chamber (12) falling below a predetermined level causing said float valve (24) to engage said outlet (28) to close said outlet (28) to prevent further liquid from leaving said chamber (12).
