A cosmetic composition for protecting keratinous substrates against UV radiation, provided in the form of a water-in-oil, or oil-in-water emulsion that includes at least one or more UV filter photoprotective compositions and at least a first silica aerogel, the silica aerogel comprising particles, all in a cosmetically acceptable aqueous carrier. The composition exhibits an SPF that is greater than an SPF exhibited by an identical composition.Linvention concerne une composition cosmétique qui permet de protéger les substrats à base de kératine contre le rayonnement UV, sous forme dune émulsion eau–dans–lhuile, ou huile–dans–leau qui comprend au moins une ou plusieurs compositions photo-protectrices filtrant les UV et au moins un premier aérogel de silice, laérogel de silice comportant des particules, le tout dans un support aqueux de qualité cosmétique. Ladite composition présente un FPS supérieur à un FPS présenté par une composition identique.
