The present invention relates to: the use of a strain of Brucella spp. expressing the green fluorescent protein (GFP) in the preparation of medicaments for the prevention of brucellosis in mammals, vaccines against brucellosis, and the method for identifying mammals to which said vaccines have been administered. Preferably, the method of the invention is an immunoassay, and, more preferably, it is an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).La presente invención se refiere al uso de una cepa de Brucella spp. que expresa la proteína Green Flourescent Protein (GFP) en la elaboración de medicamentos para la prevención de la brucelosis en mamíferos, a las vacunas frente a la brucelosis, y al método para la identificación de los mamíferos a los que se les ha administrado dichas vacunas. Preferiblemente, el método de la invención es un inmunoensayo, y aún más preferiblemente es un ensayo inmunoabsorbente ligado a enzimas (ELISA).
