A feeding tube and method for introducing a feeding tube within the gastrointestinal tract of a patient, whereby the feeding tube is introduced by using a variation of the Ponsky "pull" method of feeding tube placement. The feeding tube comprises an elongate shaft having a distal end and proximal end. The feeding tube also comprises a coupling structure for coupling the feeding tube to a pull wire, the coupling structure be proximal of the distal end of the feeding tube shaft. The feeding tube further comprises a guiding structure for aligning the pull wire with the distal end of the shaft. The feeding tube is introduced within the patient by attaching the previously placed pull wire to the coupling and guiding structures of the feeding tube, and then pulling the pull wire so as to pull the feeding tube into and through the gastrointestinal tract of the patient.Linvention porte sur une sonde dalimentation et sur un procédé dintroduction dune sonde dalimentation dans le tractus gastro-intestinal dun patient, la sonde dalimentation étant introduite à laide dune variation du procédé de « traction » Ponsky de placement de sonde dalimentation. La sonde dalimentation comporte une tige allongée ayant une extrémité distale et une extrémité proximale. La sonde dalimentation comporte également une structure de couplage qui permet de coupler la sonde dalimentation à un fil de traction, la structure de couplage étant proximale à lextrémité distale de la tige de la sonde dalimentation. La sonde dalimentation comporte en outre une structure de guidage pour aligner le fil de traction avec lextrémité distale de la tige. La sonde dalimentation est introduite dans le corps du patient en attachant le fil de traction préalablement placé aux structures de couplage et de guidage de la sonde dalimentation, puis en tirant le fil de traction de façon à tirer la sonde dalimentation dans et à travers le tractus gastro-intestinal du patient.
