One or more treatment parameters are determined for a cornea reshaping procedure.The one or more treatment parameters are selected so as to reduce an amount of collagenshrinkage in a cornea of a patients eye (104) caused by the cornea reshapingprocedure. For example, the one or more treatment parameters could be selectedso as to minimize an amount of stromal collagen shrinkage in the cornea of the patientseye caused by the cornea reshaping procedure. As another example, the corneareshaping procedure could include irradiating multiple spots (350-352) onthe cornea of the patients eye, where each spot is associated with an amountof stromal collagen. The one or more treatment parameters could be selected sothat no more than 1% or 5% of the stromal collagen in the irradiated spots undergoesclinically significant shrinkage as a result of the cornea reshaping procedure.
