Provided are a method and an apparatus for calculating assistance torque which a walk assistant device provides. The method for calculating assistance torque comprises: calculating the first assistance torque provided to a user who wears a walk assistant device； measuring the extent of warping on a predetermined part of the walk assistant device； calculating the second assistance torque transferred to the user based on the extent of warping； and calculating the third assistance torque of which the extent of warping is corrected based on the first and second assistance torque.보행 보조 장치가 제공하는 보조력을 계산하기 위한 방법 및 장치가 제공된다. 보조력 계산 방법은 보행 보조 장치를 착용한 사용자에게 제공할 제1 보조력을 계산하고, 보행 보조 장치의 미리 정해진 부분의 뒤틀림의 정도를 측정하고, 뒤틀림의 정도에 기반하여 사용자에게 전달된 제2 보조력을 계산하고, 제1 보조력 및 제2 보조력에 기반하여 뒤틀림을 보정한 제3 보조력을 계산할 수 있다.
