A method of determining stiffness index of an arterial network is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of: obtaining a pulse waveform related to the arterial network； estimating a source pulse based on at least one predetermined feature of the pulse waveform； determining a plurality of characteristics of the pulse waveform based on a relationship between the pulse waveform and the source pulse； and calculating the stiffness index of the arterial network based on the plurality of characteristics of the pulse waveform. An arterial stiffness index measuring device employing the above methodology is also disclosed therein.L'invention concerne un procédé de détermination d'indice de rigidité d'un réseau artériel. Le procédé comprend les étapes consistant : à obtenir une forme d'onde d'impulsion associée au réseau artériel； à estimer une impulsion source sur la base d'au moins une caractéristique prédéterminée de la forme d'onde d'impulsion； à déterminer une pluralité de caractéristiques de la forme d'onde d'impulsion sur la base d'une relation entre la forme d'onde d'impulsion et l'impulsion source； à calculer l'indice de rigidité du réseau artériel sur la base de la pluralité de caractéristiques de la forme d'onde d'impulsion. L'invention concerne également un dispositif de mesure d'indice de rigidité artérielle (52) utilisant la méthodologie susmentionnée.
