An RTP communication part obtains an adjustment quantity for adjusting a capture timing to start capturing an image, a capture adjusting part adjusts the capture timing based on the adjustment quantity, a capture part captures the image in synchronization with the adjusted capture timing, and the RTP communication part sends the captured image to a receiving device. The present technique may be applied to, for example, a sending device that captures and sends an image.
