An animal collar comprises a band member 1 having opposed first and second ends, with complementary connector buckles 2a, 2b provided on the opposed ends which are engageable to secure the ends together to form the band into a closed loop. An anchor ring 4 is secured to the band member 1 for engagement by a hook member 6 carried on a lead 8, and a hook member 5 is secured to the band member 1 in spaced apart relation to the anchor ring 4, the hook member 5 being securable to an anchor ring 7 carried on the lead 8 so as to securely connect the collar 1 to the lead 8.
