The present invention relates to a mattress for preventing and treating bedsores. Said mattress comprises a main body (1) and an interchangeable element (2, 3, 4). Said interchangeable element (2, 3, 4) comprises an absorbent composition (7) and a disinfectant composition (8). The present invention also relates to a method for manufacturing such a mattress. Said method comprises the following steps: producing the main body (1), fitted with a cover (5), in particular a laminated jersey, having a recess for an interchangeable element (2, 3, 4)； producing an interchangeable element (2, 3, 4) made of honeycomb cardboard or viscoelastic honeycomb foam； depositing an absorbent composition (7) in the interchangeable element； depositing a disinfectant composition (8) on the absorbent composition； arranging a casing (11) around the interchangeable element (2, 3, 4), said casing being in particular formed of a pervious nonwoven textile, and； placing the interchangeable element (2, 3, 4) in the recess corresponding to the main body (1).
