The implantable prosthetic valve assembly, according to one embodiment, includes a frame assembly including an artificial valve that is secured inside the frame assembly by a plurality of posts and sutures. The suture is inward of the outermost surface of the outer periphery of the frame assembly. In certain embodiments, the posts include recesses through which sutures can be placed. In other embodiments, the posts may have holes through these posts through which the suture passes.
