An elongate plunger 24 having a proximal end 50, a distal end 52 and a stopper 54 is slidably positioned in fluid-tight engagement with the inside surface 32 of the barrel 22 for drawing fluid into and out of the chamber by movement of the stopper 54 relative to the barrel 22.
