PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods for reducing adverse events associated with pirfenidone therapy.SOLUTION: The invention relates to methods of decreasing adverse events in a patient receiving pirfenidone (5-methyl-1-phenyl-2-(1H)-pyridone) therapy.
