In one embodiment, there is provided a phacoemulsification probe for preferredusesin ophthalmological surgery. The probe includes a first portion, a probe tiphaving afirst end connected with the first portion and a fluid sleeve surrounding theprobe tip.The probe tip has a second end with a second axis oriented at an angle to thecentralaxis, and a body defining a channel for aspirating materials from a surgicalregion.The body includes a straight portion connected to the first end and a curvedportionconnecting the straight portion to the second end, as well as an annularprotrusion.The fluid sleeve defines a channel between it and the probe tip for injectinga fluidinto the surgical region from a channel opening through an aperture in thefluidsleeve, and a fluid sleeve end is fitted over the annular protrusion to sealthe fluidsleeve end.
