PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus which improves a success rate of detecting a pupil or an iris pattern of a patients eye and enables irradiation of the patients eye with a laser beam while tracking the movement of the patient eye.SOLUTION: The cornea surgery apparatus comprises a laser beam emitting optical system which moves a laser beam irradiated position over a cornea and an eye position variation detecting unit which has an illuminating optical system for illuminating the anterior ocular segment of the patients eye and an imaging camera for imaging the anterior ocular segment and detects a variation in the position of the patients eye including cycloduction during surgery from the iris pattern of the image of the anterior ocular segment. The cornea surgery apparatus makes the position the laser emitting optical system irradiates with the laser beam follow the movement of the patients eye based on the detected result by the unit and ablates the cornea by the emission of the laser beam and is equipped with a contrast adjusting means which extracts the pupil or iris portion according to the luminance information on the image of the anterior ocular segment and varies a set value of at least one of the amount of illumination light or the gain of the imaging camera in a manner that the contrast of the pupil portion to the iris portion or the contrast of the pattern of the iris portion becomes high within a range in which the luminance information on the iris portion turns unsaturated.COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT【課題】 患者眼の瞳孔や虹彩模様パターンの検出の成功率を向上させ、患者眼の動きに追尾して適切にレーザ照射を行うことができる装置を提供する。【解決手段】 レーザ照射位置を角膜上で移動可能なレーザ照射光学系と、前眼部の照明光学系及び前眼部を撮像する撮像カメラを持ち、前眼部像の虹彩模様パターンから手術中の眼球回旋を含む患者眼の位置変化を検知する眼位置変化検知ユニットとを備え、ユニットの検知結果からレーザ照射光学系によりレーザ照射位置を患者眼の動きに追尾させ、レーザ光照射により角膜を切除する角膜手術装置で、前眼部像の輝度情報にから瞳孔部分及び虹彩部分を抽出し、虹彩部分の輝度情報が飽和状態とならない範囲で、虹彩部分に対する瞳孔部分又は虹彩部分の模様のコントラストが高くなるように照明光量又は撮像カメラのゲインの一方の設定値を増減させるコントラスト調整手段を備える。【選択図】 図2
