PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support system for a standing-up motion through a smooth posture movement while alleviating a burden on a user's body in standing-up from a chair which is a start point of his or her daily life behavior.SOLUTION: A life support system includes: a robot 2 including a body part 21, a moving device 22 for moving the body part in a self-supporting state, a handle part 23 provided to the body part which can be gripped by a user, and a handle load detection part 27 for detecting a handle load that the user applies to the handle part; a support control device for controlling the movement of a seat surface 31 with respect to the standing-up motion of the user seated on a chair 3 based on the detected handle load; and a communication part for transmitting support control information including a moving speed at which the seat surface is moved to the chair, to the chair through a communication network.
