PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical image processing apparatus that provides improved visibility.SOLUTION: According to an embodiment, a medical image processing apparatus comprises an acquisition unit, identification unit, shaping unit, production unit, and display control unit. The acquisition unit acquires first and second images acquired by performing image processing on medical image data by using methods differing from each other. The identification unit identifies the second images area corresponding to a designated range in the first image. The shaping unit forms a third image obtained by shaping the identified area so as to be fit for a three-dimensional form in the designated range. The production unit superposes the third image on the designated range in the first image to produce a synthesized image.
