The mixer (1) has an annular chamber (17) that is in fluid communication with the mixing chamber of the mixer housing (2). The chamber (17) is defined by the cover (3), and by a plate (18) that is provided on the mixer element (4). The first of the inlet connections (12, 13) leading into mixer (1), ends in chamber (17), while the other ends downstream of plate (18) in the mixing chamber.
