The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition and a food composition containing a Cinnamomum verum extract and an Astragalus propinquus extract as active components. A composition of the present invention, in benign prostatic hyperplasia, inhibits the enlargement of prostate tissues and the expression of 5α-reductase, thereby being able to be used for preventing, treating, and alleviating benign prostatic hyperplasia.본 발명은 육계 추출물 및 황기 추출물을 유효성분으로 포함하는 약제학적 조성물 및 식품 조성물에 대한 것이다. 본 발명의 조성물은 전립선 비대증에서, 전립선 조직이 커지는 것을 억제하고, 5α-리덕타아제의 발현을 억제하므로 전립선 비대증의 예방, 치료 및 개선용으로 사용될 수 있다.
