PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing rod case having favorable external appearance in both cases of opening and closing a fishing rod storage space, capable of preventing damage of a fishing rod to be stored in the storage space, and facilitating take-out of the fishing rod from the interior of the storage space.SOLUTION: A fishing rod case 1 comprises an inner case part 10, and an outer case part 20. The outer case part 20 includes: a contact part 26 that is provided at an inner face 29 site of the outer case part 20 and, when the outer case part 20 is fitted to the inner case part 10, comes into contact with a site 19 of the inner case part 10 to form a clearance space S2 between a tip end opening 11 of the inner case part 10 and a closing end face 27 of the outer case part 20 for closing the tip end opening 11 of the inner case part 10 so as to retain the clearance space S2 and a fitting part 25 that is fitted to an outer peripheral face 10a of the inner case part 10.
