Described herein is the use of an aromatase inhibitor (i.e. lezotrole) forsynchronizing ovulation (i.e. follicularwave emergence, ovulation) in a herd or a single mammal. Also described is theuse of said aromatase inhibitor at the beginning ofa follicular wave emergence for inducing multiple ovulation or improving theresponse to ovarian superstimulation. Treatmentwith aromatase inhibitor early in the follicular wave will induce follicularco-dominance and increase the incidence of doubleovulation and twin pregnancy. Aromatase inhibitor treatment may be used beforeor soon after insemination (early estrus to earlydiestrus) for improving fertility in a mammal.
