PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article in which adjacent cells coalesce easily, and which includes a cell absorber excellent in cell volume increment to a cell coalesce number.SOLUTION: An absorbent article comprises an absorber 50 whose periphery is surrounded by joint parts 54 of a front side sheet 51 and a back side sheet 52, and which comprises cells 55 to which the front side sheet 51 and the back side sheet are not jointed, and particulate matter containing high absorbent polymer particles 53 included in the cells. In the absorbent article, regular octagons, which have a same dimension whose all interior angles are 135 degree and lengths of two sets of opposite sides whose facing directions are orthogonal to each other, are arranged without a gap in a cross direction LD and a width direction WD, in which the joint parts are arranged in a dotted line state along a pattern in which parts between the octagons are diamonds whose all sides have an equal length, thereby forming octagonal cell 55A and diamond-shaped cells 55B.
