Oil compositions, formulations containing oil compositions, and their use to prevent or treat obesity-related diseases and disorders by reducing the accumulation of built-in fats and improving glucose tolerance
This invention relates to an oil composition, preferably obtained from a copepod, and the use thereof to reduce accumulation of visceral fat and counteract impairment of heart function caused by obesity inducing Western diets. The oil composition of the present invention can thus be used to reduce abdominal obesity and improve glucose tolerance and thus to reduce the risk of obesity related diseases such as but not limited to type 2 diabetes or cardiovascular disease, or to prevent or treat such diseases.本発明は、オイル組成物であって、好ましくはカイアシから得られたもの、及び内蔵脂肪の蓄積を減らして、肥満症を誘導する西洋型の食事によって引き起こされる心臓機能の障害を妨げるためのその使用に関する。従って、本発明のオイル組成物は、腹部肥満症を低減し、ブドウ糖耐性を向上させて、肥満症関連の疾患、例えば限定しないが２型糖尿病又は循環器疾患のリスクを減らすか、若しくはかかる疾患を予防するか又は治療するために用いることができる。
