The present invention relates to a method to elicit resistance in a living plant or in a harvested plant part to a disease caused by fungal pathogens, wherein the method comprises exposing a plant or a plant part to an essential oil vapor containing cineole. The present invention also relates to a package for a plant or a plant part containing essential oil comprising cineole, wherein the essential oil turns into a vapor form within the package and further to a composition comprising a solution or an atomized spray containing an essential oil.La présente invention concerne un procédé destiné à provoquer, chez une plante vivante ou une partie de plante récoltée, une résistance contre une maladie causée par des pathogènes fongiques. Le procédé consiste à exposer une plante ou une partie de plante à une vapeur dhuile essentielle contenant du cinéole. La présente invention concerne également un kit destiné à une plante ou à une partie de plante, qui contient une huile essentielle contenant du cinéole. Ladite huile essentielle se transforme en vapeur dans le kit, puis en une composition contenant une solution ou un brouillard atomisé contenant une huile essentielle.
