PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article wherein high performances are maintained in wearability, liquid absorptivity and liquid retentivity, side leakage prevention and kink prevention are improved and a structure demonstrating the function can give a decorative appearance further in the absorbent article provided with side sheets.
SOLUTION: The absorbent article comprises an absorptive main body provided with a liquid permeable surface layer, a liquid retentive absorption layer and a leakage prevention layer, and a pair of left and right side sheets provided over the almost entire length of both side edge parts on the skin abutting surface side of the absorptive main body. First embosses formed only on the side sheets and second embosses formed so as to connect the side sheets and one of the surface layer, absorption layer and leakage prevention layer of the absorptive main body continuously or intermittently columnarly in the longitudinal direction of the side sheets are disposed.
