PURPOSE: A composition containing Gardenia jasminoides extract is provided to lower secretion of histamine in mast cells and to prevent or treat allergic diseases. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating allergic diseases contains a fraction of Gardenia jasminoides extract as an active ingredient. The Gardenia jasminoides extract is prepared using water, low alcohol of C1-C2, or mixture solvent thereof. The fraction is an ethyl acetate fraction. A cosmetic composition for preventing and treating allergic diseases contains the fraction as an active ingredient. A neutraceutical food for preventing and treating allergic diseases contains the fraction as an active ingredient.본 발명은 치자(Gardeniajasminoides) 추출물의 분획물을 유효성분으로 함유하는 알러지 질환의 예방 또는 치료용 조성물에 관한 것으로서, 구체적으로 치자 추출물로부터 분획한 치자 분획물은 비만세포(mast cell)에서 히스타민(histamine)의 분비량을 낮추고, 알러지성 아토피 피부염 질환 모델에서 피부염 및 귀 부종을 감소시키고, 혈청 중 IgE 농도를 감소시키므로, 알러지 질환의 예방, 개선 또는 치료에 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.
