The present invention relates to an antioxidant composition comprising a combination of galatomannan and N-acetyl cysteine for its use in the treatment of a skin disease or condition resulting from reactive oxygen species production in the skin or involving reactive oxygen species production in the skin, to a hydrogel containing said combination as well as to dressing wounds comprising said hydrogel and its use in the healing of ulcers, wounds, bums and scalds.
