The application describes an adjustable arm for a patient monitoring device to be placed on a surface portion of a patients body, said arm comprising: at least first and second arm parts abase to which the first arm part is connected and which includes mounting means for mounting it relative to a patient support platform and holding means for receiving the patient monitoring device, to which the second arm part is connected the arm parts, the base and the holding means being articulated by means of joints therebetween, which joints are fixable against movement when the patient monitoring device is in use wherein the joints between the first arm part and the base and between second arm part and the holding means comprise multidirectional joints wherein the base has a fixed portion and a tiltable portion, the fixed portion comprising the mounting means and the first arm part being connected to the tiltable portion, whereby when the said joints are fixed the adjustable arm can maintain the patient monitoring device in position on the patient surface portion while allowing for movement of the patient monitoring device due to respiration.Linvention concerne un bras réglable pour un dispositif de surveillance de patient à placer sur une partie surface du corps dun patient, ledit bras comportant : au moins des première et seconde parties de bras une base à laquelle la première partie de bras est reliée et qui comprend un moyen de montage permettant son montage par rapport à une plate-forme de support de patient un moyen de retenue pour recevoir le dispositif de surveillance de patient, auquel la seconde partie de bras est reliée les parties de bras, la base et le moyen de retenue étant articulés entre eux au moyen de raccords, ces raccord pouvant être fixés afin déviter tout mouvement lorsque le dispositif de surveillance de patient est en cours dutilisation les raccords entre la première partie de bras et la base, et entre la seconde partie de bras et le moyen de rete
