PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tongue coat amount estimation system and a tongue coat amount estimation method capable of estimating tongue coat in a non-contact manner.SOLUTION: According to one aspect of the present invention, a tongue coat amount estimation system includes a light emitting element for emitting a light having a peak in the range of 350-450 nm to the tongue of a person to be observed, a light receiving element for receiving fluorescence emitted from the tongue of the person to be observed, and an estimation device for estimating a tongue coat amount on the basis of the light amount of the fluorescence received by the light receiving element.
