Disclosed is a substituted piperidine or piperazine compound of formula (I) where the substituents are as disclosed in the description. Examples of compounds of formula (I) include: 6-[4-(4-Benzyl-phthalazin-1-yl)-piperazin-1-yl]-nicotinonitrile； 1-Benzyl-4-[4-(5-trifluoromethyl-pyridin-2-yl)-piperazin-1-yl]-phthalazine and 6-Benzyl-4-methyl-3-[4-(5-trifluoromethyl-pyridin-2-yl)-piperazin-1-yl]-pyridazine. Also disclosed is a pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound of formula (I) and the use of a compound of formula (I) in the manufacture of a medicament for treating a pathology relating to the Hedgehog pathway.
