PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restore synchronous contraction of a cardiac tissue by outputting an appropriate defibrillation pulse when the heart is in a defibrillation state, and defibrillating the heart appropriately.SOLUTION: A defibrillator 1 includes: a pair of electrodes 2a and 2b arranged at the heart； a defibrillation pulse generating part 6 for generating a defibrillation pulse to be output between the electrodes 2a and 2b； and a control part 7 for controlling the defibrillation pulse generating part 6. The defibrillation pulse generating part 6 includes: a capacitor C2 for accumulating electric charges； a charging part SW2 for charging the capacitor C2； a discharging part SW7 for discharging electricity from the capacitor C2； and a voltage detecting part 11 for detecting a terminal voltage of the capacitor C2.
