The object of the invention is the use of fructans taraxacum officinale, as active principle, cosmetics, in a cosmetic composition for topical application, said active substance and / or said composition being intended to combat the harmful effects of the environmental pollution on the skin. The present invention also relates to a specific active principle which is adapted to such a use in cosmetic compositions, including the active substance and to a cosmetic process for the care of the skin for combating harmful effects of the environmental pollution on the skin.
