The syringe adapter includes a housing defining an interior space, a seal array including a membrane body received within the housing interior space with a seal array movable within the housing, and adjacent the first end of the housing. A connector body is disposed and configured to be connected to the syringe barrel. The connector body includes a locking projection that cooperates with a retaining ring of the housing to secure the connector body to the housing. The connector body is rotatable in first and second directions relative to the housing. The locking projection engages the retaining ring to limit axial movement of the connector body relative to the housing.
