PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an extract of leaves of a plant of the Rutaceae Citrus having an excellent tyrosinase activity inhibition action in view of the situation where the improvement of a production efficiency by adoption of an elevated extraction temperature is difficult because there is a phenomenon that the tyrosinase activity inhibition action exhibited by an extract of leaves of a plant of the Rutaceae Citrus decreases at an elevated extraction temperature, and to provide a cosmetic which exhibits excellent preventive and symptom improving effect on skin pigmentation such as liver spots and freckles to make the skin younger and healthy by using a cosmetic formulation ingredient an extract of leaves of a plant of the Rutaceae Citrus produced by the method and exhibiting excellent tyrosinase activity inhibition action.
SOLUTION: The method includes treating an extract of leaves of a plant of the Rutaceae Citrus with e.g., activated carbon to obtain an extract stripped of adsorbable constituents and formulating the extract into a cosmetic.
