A probe device for detecting atherosclerotic plaque may include: an elongate shaft having a proximal end for coupling with a catheter and a distal end an opening in a side of the shaft a scintillating window disposed over the opening to form a water tight seal and thus form an imaging window compartment a 45-degree rotating mirror disposed at least partially within the imaging window compartment and an ultrasound transducer disposed at least partially within the imaging window compartment. The probe is a dual-modality, catheter radionuclide imaging and photoacoustic tomography (CRI-PAT) probe.La présente invention concerne un dispositif de sonde pour détecter une plaque athérosclérotique qui peut comprendre : une tige allongée ayant une extrémité proximale pour couplage avec un cathéter et une extrémité distale une ouverture dans un côté de la tige une fenêtre de scintillation disposée au-dessus de louverture pour former un joint étanche à leau et former ainsi un compartiment de fenêtre dimagerie un miroir rotatif à 45 degrés disposé au moins partiellement dans le compartiment de fenêtre dimagerie et un transducteur à ultrasons disposé au moins partiellement à lintérieur du compartiment de fenêtre dimagerie.
