A solid particulate formulation comprising soluble ferric pyrophosphate and a sachet comprising a solid particulate formulation of soluble ferric pyrophosphate for addition to a dialysis solution are provided. Also disclosed are improved methods of administering soluble ferric pyrophosphate containing solid particulate formulations, and kits comprising solid particulate formulations and dialysis concentrate formulations. The present disclosure is directed to a solid particulate formulation of soluble ferric pyrophosphate (SFP). In one aspect, the solid particulate formulation of SFP is a powder formulation. In another aspect, the solid particulate formulation of SFP is a granular formulation. In one aspect, the dialysis concentrate is an acid. In another aspect, the dialysis concentrate formulation is a base.
