A method for the morphological diagnosis of the degree of the inflammatory process in pulmonary tuberculoma in the patient having a surgery comprises the histological examination of the surgical specimens, namely the fragments of the pulmonary tissue are fixed according to the conventional method in 10 % neutral formalin, processed, embedded into paraffin, sectioned and stained with hematoxylin-eosin. The stained sections are examined under the microscope at x100 and x200 for assessing the degree of the inflammation. The additional staining of the serial sections according to Zerbino-Lukasevych is provided. The detection of the large foci of bright orange-red coloration in caseous content of tuberculoma, or the detection of bright orange-red masses in alveoli adjacent to tuberculoma, or the detection of the large bright orange-red structures in the necrotic content of the foci indicates the high degree of the activity of the specific inflammation. When only small traces of bright red coloration or diffuse pink coloration of the necrotic masses are detected, the degree of tuberculosis activity is considered as the moderate.
