PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaner capable of removing contaminants in a short time before the contaminants are diffused after the generation of the contaminants in a room and capable of suppressing the diffusion of the contaminants and the increase of the concentration of the contaminants.SOLUTION: An air cleaner according to the present invention comprises air purification means for removing contaminants from air, a first sensor for detecting the concentration of the contaminants in the air, ventilation means, an exhaust part, exhaust direction changing means, a second sensor for detecting a position of a person within a person detection range, a third sensor for detecting estimated contamination occurrence timing such as operation timing of household electric appliances in a room, and control means for controlling the operation of the ventilation means and the exhaust direction changing means.
