Die Erfindung betrifft ein Zusatzmodul (2) zum Verbinden mit einem Injektor (1) zur Abgabe einer medizinischen Substanz. Das Zusatzmodul (2) weist eine Haltekonfiguration auf, in der die Aufnahmeeinheit (40) durch die Halteeinrichtung im Gehäuse (20) unbeweglich gehalten ist und in der das Halteelement (43.1, 43.2) derart mit dem Injektor (1) zusammenwirken kann, dass der Injektor (1) durch die Aufnahmeeinheit (40) gehalten ist und dabei das Halteelement (43.1, 43.2) durch das Gehäuse (20) verriegelt ist. Weiter weist das Zusatzmodul (2) eine Freigabekonfiguration auf, in der die Aufnahmeeinheit (40) von der Halteeinrichtung freigegeben ist und der Injektor (1) vom Halteelement (43.1, 43.2) freigegeben ist.
