To provide a compact ion source device, a particle beam generator, and a method for generating ion beams, which are capable of generating a plurality of ion species by switching in a short time.SOLUTION: An ion source device 1 generating ion beams from gas introduced in the vacuum includes: a chamber 12 with vacuum inside； a gas supply unit 26 to supply gas into the chamber； and an ionization energy supply unit 20 to supply ionization energy for the ionization of atoms of the gas into the chamber.
