To provide an agent and food for preventing/improving functional gastrointestinal disorders and containing at least one species selected from 5 - nucleotide and salts thereof as an effective ingredient or ingredients.

SOLUTION: Functional gastrointestinal disorders and dysphagia are improved without inducing systemic adverse effects and as concentrations of NO and serotonin are increased solely in the gastrointestinal tract and the movement of the gastrointestinal tract is enhanced by administering at least one species out of 5 - nucleotide and its salts of amino acids such as inosinic acid, guanylic acid, adenylic acid, cytidylic acid, uridylic acid and xanthylic acid and the like to a patient to be administered.
