Provided are a multi-layered aquaponics system and an aquaponics method for indoor vertical farming. The aquaponics system comprises: (1) a fish tank (108), (2) a submerged pump (100), (3) water supply pipes for culturing beds (101), (4) culturing beds (109), (5) bell siphons (103), (6) vertical pipes (102), (7) a drain pipe (104), (8) an upper layer drain pipe (105), (9) a lowermost layer drain pipe (106), and (10) LED plant culturing promoting lamps (107) attached to each layer of the culturing beds. The aquaponics method of the multi-layer aquaponics system includes a step of draining water from the fish tank positioned at the lowermost height to each layer of the plant culturing beds by using the submerged pump through the water supply pipes.
